Ruth Wraith is one of Australia’s leading disaster mental health experts with over thirty years experience in national and international disasters, trauma, grief and loss. Ruth is a senior child psychotherapist with an extensive clinical practice specialising in traumatised children and their families and also working directly with impacted communities and their organisations following critical incidents, disasters and other traumatic events.
Ruth has consulted to and worked with an extensive range of government, non-government and academic organisations through policy and practice development, and with mental health and other child specialist professions through education, training and supervision. Ruth was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to community health, particularly the treatment of children recovering from trauma.
